The periodical inspection of a lifting machinery aims, through a thorough examination and testing including load tests, to reassure that the machinery keeps the safety level of the manufacturer’s specifications and is still working properly.

The periodical inspections of the lifting machineries and accessories are performed according the requirements of the applicable International and European Standards for each category of equipment and the national legislation applied in each country. The time intervals between the periodical inspections depend on the categorization of the machinery (high risk category – medium risk category – low risk category) through a risk assessment procedure. Generally, a period of twelve months is considered sufficient between the periodical inspections of a machinery.
